About Dementia has launched a funding grant for grassroots dementia projects. The Encouraging and Supporting Grassroots Activity (ESGA) 2023 Fund will see £170,000 awarded to groups and individuals across Scotland to run projects within their community supporting people affected by dementia. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 1st September.

HMRC Voluntary and Community Sector Grant Funding Programme
HMRC is looking for third, voluntary and community sector organisations to support them in helping customers they currently find hardest to reach. They are inviting bids for funding of £30,000 – £600,000 per year, with a maximum threshold set at 50% of your organisation’s turnover. The deadline for application bids is 11:59pm on Monday 21st August 2023.

Scrutiny of the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Bill: Deadline for Views Extended
The deadline for submissions to the Call for Views, and the online conversation, on Scottish Parliament’s Scrutiny of the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Bill has been extended until Friday 15th September. The Bill allows local authorities to introduce a charge on overnight stays in some types of accommodation.
Children’s Services Reform Research Study: Workforce Survey
The Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection (CELCIS) has launched the online Children’s Services Reform Research Study: Workforce Survey. CELCIS has been asked by Scottish Government to carry out a research study to better understand how children and families can get the support they need, when they need it. The survey is open those providing support, care and/or protection to children, young people and their families. The deadline for responses is Monday 28th August.

Central FM has launched their Central FM Local Hero Awards 2023. People throughout Forth Valley have the opportunity to nominate the individuals, charities, key workers, NHS workers, Emergency Services and voluntary groups who make a huge difference to their local communities. Nominations close at 11:59pm on Saturday 30th September.
Bo’ness Volunteer Fair 2023
The Bo’ness Volunteer Fair returns for 2023 on Thursday 28th September, 3pm – 7pm at Bo’ness Town Hall, Glebe Park, Stewart Avenue, Bo’ness, EH51 9NJ. The free event is open to local residents to help them learn more about the volunteering opportunities available in Bo’ness, and find the role that’s right for them.
Braveheart Community Wellbeing Day
The Braveheart Association is holding their Community Wellbeing Day on Wednesday 6th September, 10am – 2pm, at their Connections Hub in the Howgate Shopping Centre, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1HG. The event is completely free to attend, and will feature a range of stalls from local third sector groups and organisations, with information and advice on health and wellbeing.
