Do you want to support people in your local community to feel empowered? Could you offer a few hours a week to help people access benefits and other services?
VoiceAbility (a UK-wide charity which provides benefits advocacy to disabled people and people applying on behalf of family or people they care for) is searching for both Support Session and Service Volunteers!
Support Session Volunteers offer one to one advocacy support to help people have their say when it matters most, make complaints, and to use local services.
Service Team Volunteers:
- network
- promote VoiceAbility and their services
- help clients understand advocacy
- support clients with the self-advocacy toolkit
- signpost
- feed into the school work experience programme
- support community engagement programmes in their local area (especially which involve people with learning disabilities and autistic people)
The roles are open to volunteers aged 18 years old and over. Expenses will be paid, and volunteers will have access to VoiceAbility benefits.
To get involved with this role, please complete the online application form (linked for your convenience), or contact VoiceAbility to find out which location near you needs volunteers, by phone: 0300 303 1660, or email: volunteering@voiceability.org
