The Health and Social Case Alliance (the ALLIANCE) Scotland has released the programme of events for Self Management Week 2023. Events will take place each day during the week, which runs Monday 18th September – Thursday 21st September.

Health and Wellbeing Forum: September Meeting
The next Health and Wellbeing Forum takes place on Wednesday 20th September, 10am – 12pm via Zoom. Included on the agenda is information on the “Let’s Be Heard” COVID-19 inquiry workstream, a presentation from Diabetes Scotland, and information about Round 3 of the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
Falkirk Food Train “Sip and Paint Art Party” Fundraising Event
Falkirk Food Train is holding a charity fundraiser “Sip and Paint Art Party” at Behind The Wall, 14 Melville Street, Falkirk, FK1 1HZ, on Friday 29th September, 7pm – 10pm. All supplies such as paint, canvas, brushes and aprons will be provided. People may also win prizes based on their artwork. Tickets are £24 each, with doors opening at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
GWT Forth Valley Network Meeting
The GWT Forth Valley Network next meets on Tuesday 12th September, 1:15pm – 3:15pm at Bellfield Centre, Stirling Health and Care Village, Livilands Gate, Stirling, FK8 2AU.
Nominations Open: Young Women’s Movement 30 Under 30
The Young Women’s Movement (YWM) has opened nominations for their 30 Under 30 list. 30 Under 30 is YWM’s annual campaign featuring 30 young women, girls and non-binary people in Scotland, who are making changes in their communities and wider society. The deadline for nominations is 9am on Tuesday 12th September.
GWT International Certificate in Intergenerational Practice
Generations Working Together (GWT) runs an 8 week course, International Certificate in Intergenerational Practice (ICIP), with the next course starting Monday 11th September. It consists of 3 online modules taking approximately 75 hours to complete, and costs £230 for members, and £275 for non-members.
Denny Dementia Friendly Community Event
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Joint Dementia Initiative (a project with NHS Forth Valley, Age Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland) is holding a Dementia Friendly Community Event next Tuesday 5th September, 3:30pm – 4:30pm at Denny Library, Davies Row, Denny, FK6 6FA.
Gateway Training Programmes for Parents
Falkirk Council’s Employment and Training Unit is working in partnership with Aberlour in Bainsford and Langlees, and Home-Start Falkirk in Denny, to deliver Gateway parent programmes for parents, taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
