Crawford Architectural has organised a second and final public consultation drop-in event on their housing development proposal, taking place on Tuesday 30th January, 4pm – 8pm. In 2023, Crawford Architectural submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) to Falkirk Council, with the intention to build affordable residential housing at the site on Carron Road, Falkirk (between the Lidl and Co-op, and Matalan). They are required by law to consult with the public on this proposal.

Trauma-Informed Maternity Services: Drop-In Session
The Resilience Learning Partnership (RLP) is hosting a drop-in session next Monday 29th January, 12pm – 2:30pm at their Alloa office, which is open to anyone who has accessed NHS Forth Valley maternity services for themselves in the last 2 years. This is part of support to review how Forth Valley maternity services ask people accessing their services about previous traumas.
Biochar Event with Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC
FEL Scotland is hosting Bo’ness’ own Sustainable Thinking Scotland (STS) CIC for a demo on their biochar product, how it works and the potential it has to protect the environment, on this coming Monday 29th January, 12pm – 1:30pm at The Hub, next to Stirling Train Station, Goosecroft Road, Stirling, FK8 1PF.
Network Rail Engineering Works: Disruption to Falkirk Services
From Monday 29th January, Network Rail engineers will be delivering safety-critical rockfall prevention engineering works on the main Edinburgh-Glasgow railway line, with normal services resuming on Friday 2nd February. The work will mean significant disruption to some services through Scotland’s Central Belt, including Falkirk stations.
eBay for Change Programme: Applications Open
Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) is recruiting for the 7th cohort of the eBay for Change programme, which is designed to help product-based social enterprises join the eBay marketplace and access millions of customers. SEUK is also running 2 webinars for social enterprises to learn more about the programme, taking place on Thursday 15th February from 6pm, and Tuesday 20th February from 10am. The deadline for applications to the 7th cohort is Sunday 17th March.
New Ready to RISE Programme
Ready to RISE (Readiness & Incubation for Social Enterprise) is a programme for women looking to learn about social enterprise and use their skills and passions to make a living, create their ideal workplace, and make a positive impact in their community. Those interested in joining the programme should attend one of the information sessions; the next session takes place online (via Teams), on Wednesday 24th January, 10am – 11am.
Braveheart Volunteering Information Drop-In
The Braveheart Association is holding a volunteer information drop-in on Wednesday 24th January, 10am – 2pm, at the Braveheart Connections Hub in the Howgate Shopping Centre, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1HG. The event will feature information on the range of volunteering roles and activities Braveheart currently has available across Forth Valley, including Walk Leader, Health Mentor, and Forth Valley Top Toes roles.

Coronation Food Project Grants Programme: Closing Soon
Applications close at 5:30pm this coming Monday 22nd January for grants from the Coronation Food Project. Through the Project, grants of £300 – £30,000 are available over a 3 year period for for community groups, charities and social enterprises which demonstrate innovative ideas aiming to change the way people think about and conduct food activities in the future.

Falkirk Funders Fayre 2024 will take place exactly 2 months from today! We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to spotlight some of the funders who will be attending the event for the first time ever, ahead of their visit to speak with Falkirk District’s third sector: the Community Ownership Fund (COF), the William Syson Foundation, and the Virgin Money Foundation.
