Head of Muir Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is looking for used office storage containers of 20 x 8 feet. They have received funding to expand their children’s clothing bank and support the local community, but are struggling to find suitable containers. They would like to buy the containers, with a budget of around £5,000.

Falkirk “Heat in Buildings” Consultation Event
On behalf of Scottish Government, Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) is holding a Falkirk in-person consultation event on the “Heat in Buildings” Bill, taking place on Monday 5th February, 1:30pm – 2:30pm in the Brockville Room of Falkirk Stadium, 4 Stadium Way, Grangemouth, FK2 9EE. People can also submit their thoughts via the online survey, which closes on Friday 8th March.
SEFS Good Practice Workshop
Shared Assets has organised a free workshop for social enterprises in Scotland trying to scale up work on healthy and sustainable food. Taking place on Monday 5th February, 10am – 12pm, at Gathering Ground CIC’s offices in Glasgow, the workshop aims to provide an opportunity for social enterprises to learn from each other on what worked well regarding scaling, any remaining challenges, and the support needed for social enterprise activities around sustainable and healthy food.
Parent/Family Helper Volunteers Training
The Breastfeeding Network is offering training to enable young mums (aged 24 years old and under) to become Parent/Family Helper volunteers. The training prepares prospective volunteers to offer support to new and expectant parents in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and at their groups across Forth Valley. The training will run from Thursday 22nd February, until Thursday 28th March (with a break for half-term).
Forth Valley Migrant Support Network Volunteer Open Day
Forth Valley Migrant Support Network is holding a Volunteer Open Day drop-in event on Wednesday 7th February, 10am – 2pm, at their premises in Grangemouth. The event is for anyone who is interested in volunteering, with the opportunity to meet some of the Network’s current volunteers. To say thank you to everyone who attends, Forth Valley Migrant Support Network will also run a free prize draw for a £25 Amazon voucher, and refreshments will be provided.
CARES Community Heat Development Programme
The CARES Community Heat Development Programme is open for Expressions of Interest, to help communities in Scotland heat their homes in climate-friendly, low carbon ways. Successful applicants will receive technical support to consider the feasibility of their project idea, and will be given advice on next steps, including any potential routes for further funding.
Falkirk Funders Fayre 2024: Support Stallholders Spotlight
The countdown is officially on to Falkirk Funders Fayre 2024! This week we’re highlighting some of our stallholders who offer support to the third sector around saving money on costs, including energy bills. Falkirk Funders Fayre will take place on Tuesday 19th March, 10am – 2pm at the Bowhouse Community Centre.
CRER Anti-Racism Resources Survey for Health and Social Care Staff
The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) has been commissioned to design and develop a range of anti-racism capacity building resources for the health and social care sector in Scotland. To inform the development of these resources, the CRER wants to hear the views of health and social care staff via an online survey. The survey closes for responses on Monday 19th February.
Falkirk Active Travel Routes Drop-In Consultation Events
SEStran, Arup and Falkirk Council are hosting public consultation drop-in events to gather local people’s feedback and thoughts on the proposed active travel routes. The events will take place in the Sunnyside Room of Camelon Community Education Centre, Abercrombie Street, Camelon, FK1 4HA, on Tuesday 6th February, 12:30pm – 2:30pm, and Thursday 8th February, 6pm – 8pm.
Rescheduled Al Masaar AGM
Al Masaar has announced the new date for their Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was postponed in December. Taking place online on Saturday 3rd February, 12pm – 1pm, the AGM will look at Al Masaar’s achievements, future plans, and feature the election of new board members.
