The Health and Social Care Alliance (the ALLIANCE) Scotland is now inviting applications to the 2024 round of the Self Management Fund, with £1,800,000 available from Scottish Government to support the continued development of co-produced, person-centred, self management activity across Scotland. The 2024 round, “Self Management for Life”, is offering small grants of up to £15,000 for up to one year, or a large grant of up to £120,000 for up to 3 years. The deadline for applications is 12:01am on Tuesday 5th March.

The Happiness Fund
The Happiness Fund is available to enable and support projects which improve mental health and wellbeing, inclusion, learning and skills development in local communities. They are specifically looking for grassroots organisations that are set up for and by the local community. Applications close on Thursday 29th February.
Agnes Hunter Trust SCIO Deadline Approaching
The Agnes Hunter Trust SCIO was established to support registered charities delivering health and social welfare projects in Scotland. The Trust now focuses on one key area of funding support: offering grants to charities which support disabled people in Scotland. The next deadline is 5pm on Thursday 29th February.
Community Land Ownership Electric Roadshow
Community Land Scotland, in partnership with the Scottish Land Fund, is holding 4 information sessions looking at the practicalities and benefits of community ownership of land and buildings. The Forth Valley session will take place on Tuesday 27th February, 6pm – 8pm at Creative Stirling, 44 King Street, Stirling, FK8 1AY.
Community Choices Public Voting Open
Public voting is now open for the fourth round of the Community Choices programme. Over 50 local groups, organisations and clubs have submitted ideas for funding to improve their areas, which local people can now vote for, with 3 votes each in the Small Grants and Place-based Capital programmes. Voting closes on Friday 23rd February.
TCV Scotland Nature Skills Events
The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) Scotland has organised a number of upcoming events at Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre at Wood Street, Grangemouth, FK3 8LH, including Willow Weaving on Friday 22nd March, 10am – 12:30pm (tickets are £38.02, including booking fees) and Wild Flower Identification on Friday 7th June, 10am – 4pm (tickets are £70.11, including booking fees)).

Playlist for Life Dementia and Music Event
Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre is hosting a free event from Playlist for Life on exploring the connection between personal music and dementia. The event takes place on Thursday 15th February, 10:30am – 12:30pm, in-person at the Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB, and is aimed at community leaders, people with lived experience of dementia, those caring for people living with dementia, and anyone interested in the benefits of personalised music in the context of dementia care.
FDAMH Upcoming Training Courses (February and March)
Falkirk’s Mental Health Association (FDAMH) has various upcoming training courses available to people living within the Falkirk District area, including: Promoting Better Sleep, fully funded and beginning this Monday 5th February; Managing Menopause 2024, fully funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults, taking place in February and March; COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills (in-person), beginning Friday 1st March; £1,300 per place (payment plans can be organised).
