From Monday 29th January, Network Rail engineers will be delivering safety-critical rockfall prevention engineering works on the main Edinburgh-Glasgow railway line, with normal services resuming on Friday 2nd February.
The work will mean significant disruption to some services through Scotland’s Central Belt, including Falkirk stations. A list of changes is available below:
- Edinburgh Waverley – Glasgow Queen Street (via Falkirk High) services will terminate at Linlithgow; no trains will run between Edinburgh Waverley and Linlithgow.
- Edinburgh Waverley – Dunblane services will terminate at Falkirk Grahamston; no trains will run between Edinburgh Waverley and Falkirk Grahamston.
- Edinburgh Waverley – Helensburgh and Milngavie services will terminate at Bathgate; no trains will run between Edinburgh Waverley and Bathgate.
- Edinburgh Waverley – Inverness services will run via Fife; ScotRail services will not call at Stirling, and coaches will replace trains on LNER services between Edinburgh, Stirling and Inverness.
Passengers should check their journey before travelling at the National Rail website (linked for your convenience), or with their individual train operator.
