With just under THREE WEEKS to go now until Falkirk Funders Fayre 2020, we’re celebrating by focusing on THREE of our exhibitors in this week’s spotlight article: SCVO’s Funding Scotland, Foundation Scotland, and Falkirk Schools Charity Board. The FREE Falkirk Funders Fayre takes place on Tuesday 5th March, 10am – 2pm at the Bowhouse Community Centre, Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, FK3 0EU. There is now only THREE DAYS until the Scottish Parliament Health and Sport Committee’s Inquiry into Adult Social Care closes on Thursday 20th February. The inquiry explores the future delivery of social care in Scotland and what is required to meet future needs. The Committee wants to hear from people with lived experience of adult social care – either while receiving it themselves, or as a carer.

With only ONE MONTH to go until Falkirk Funders Fayre, we’re delighted to confirm some new exhibitors for the day, including NHS Health Promotions and Scene Community, who are featured in this week’s spotlight. Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE), CVS Falkirk and Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI) are delighted to announce that we will be holding our third annual Forth Valley Third Sector Conference on Tuesday 12th May at the brand new Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling, and booking is now open! Our theme this year is “Investing in Your Place: People, Place, Participation”, and keynote speakers will be Aileen Campbell, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, and Kenneth Ferguson, Director of the Robertson Trust. Early bird tickets of £15 are available until the end of February.

We’ve now less than 5 WEEKS to go until this year’s Falkirk Funders Fayre, and we’ve been busy little bees! This week, we launched the event poster, and confirmed a few more exciting exhibitors. Speaking of bees, this week’s spotlight features on CharityBee, who offer the third sector bespoke support services and sector-specific advice, and Crowdfund Scotland, who you might remember have just announced their local workshops with Kelvin Valley and Falkirk LEADER. This is the second year at Falkirk Funders Fayre for both organisations – why not come along and meet with them on Tuesday 10th March, 10am – 2pm at the Bowhouse Community Centre, Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, FK3 0EU.

In partnership with CVS Falkirk, the Scottish Centre for Community Development (SCDC) is holding a FREE participation requests workshop on Thursday 12th March, 1pm – 4pm at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Redbrae Road, Camelon, FK1 4DD. The workshop is aimed at local community groups (particularly those working with people experiencing poverty and inequalities) who want to find out how to use participation requests to start discussions with decision-makers about improving public services.
