The NHS Forth Valley Health Promotion Service has relaunched its COVID-19 Response Grants Scheme for 2021-22. Applications for up to £500 will be considered from organisations and groups across Forth Valley which support and connect communities to respond to COVID-19. Applications must address one or, preferably, both of the Health Promotion Service priorities: Health Inequalities, and Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Denny and District Community Fund
The Denny and District Community Fund provides grants for a wide range of costs to support charitable activities that enhance quality of life for local residents, contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities, and promote community spirit and encourage community activity. The Fund is open to groups and organisations based in Denny and District or working with people in Denny and District, with funding rounds throughout the year. The next deadline is Friday 25th June.
Silver Sunday 2021
The next Silver Sunday takes place on Sunday 3rd October. Silver Sunday is a national day for older people (along with Older People’s Day), aiming to tackle loneliness and isolation. The event welcomes people of all ages to celebrate and appreciate older people across the UK. Celebrations can be online, in person, outdoors, indoors (where safe) – communities are encouraged to make it their own.
Local Place Plans Consultation: Proposals for Regulations
Scottish Government’s Planning and Architecture Division is consulting on Local Place Plans (LLPs), specifically around proposals for regulations. LPPs offer the opportunity for a community-led, collaborative approach to creating great local places. LPPs can support communities’ aspirations for their future, and help shape local planning policies and development priorities contained in the Local Development Plan. They are looking for input from communities and individuals; the deadline for comments is Friday 25th June.
LFD Test Kits Available in Forth Valley Pharmacies
Rapid lateral flow device (LFD) test kits are now available from a number of local pharmacies across Scotland, including in the Forth Valley area, which can be used to test people without symptoms for COVID-19. The NHS has updated its website to include links to the online location finder, where people can check LFD test kit availability in their local area.
