Scottish Government’s online survey on a single intermediary for social enterprises in Scotland closes THIS SUNDAY at 11pm! The survey is part of their research into what Scottish social enterprises are looking for from an intermediary body, along with interviews of other intermediaries and strategic partners. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and should only be completed once per organisation.

California Community Hub: Youth Group Volunteers and Meeting
California Community Hub has recently been in talks with Falkirk Council about starting a youth club in their building. As a result, Falkirk Council has agreed to supply a paid member of staff for the club, and the Hub is now looking for volunteers to help out. The Hub has organised a meeting with Falkirk Council for anyone who is interested in volunteering, or learning more, taking place on Tuesday 17th August from 7:15pm (after Taekwondo class) at the Hub.
Community Ownership Fund: Round 1 Open
The UK government has launched the new £150 million Community Ownership Fund to help communities across the UK take ownership of assets and amenities at risk of closure. The fund will run for 4 years, and may support the purchase and/or renovation costs of these assets and amenities. Eligible voluntary and community organisations can bid for match funding. Proposals will need to prove the value of the asset to local people, and that the asset can run sustainably for the long term benefit of the community. The deadline for Round 1 proposals is Friday 13th August.
Carer’s Allowance Supplement (Scotland) Bill: Deadline for Views Approaching
The deadline for written views on the Carer’s Allowance Supplement (Scotland) Bill is next Thursday 12th August. The Bill provides for an increase in the amount of the carer’s allowance supplement for the period from Friday 1st October 2021 – Thursday 31st March 2022. Anyone who qualifies for this supplement will received the increased amount. The value of the supplement is based on increasing Carer’s Allowance to the level of Job Seekers Allowance, plus inflation.
Local Development Plan 2: Summer 2021 Update
Falkirk Council has released an update on the Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) for summer 2021. The update includes information on the adoption of new Supplementary Guidance (SG), which cover a range of topics and provide more detailed guidance on certain policies within the LDP2, and the Interim Development Plan Scheme 2021. There is also now an online version of the LDP2, which includes an interactive map.
