California Community Hub has recently been in talks with Falkirk Council about starting a youth club in their building. As a result, Falkirk Council has agreed to supply a paid member of staff for the club, and the Hub is now looking for volunteers to help out.
The Hub has organised a meeting with Falkirk Council for anyone who is interested in volunteering, or learning more, taking place on Tuesday 17th August from 7:15pm (after Taekwondo class) at the Hub.
All volunteers with the youth club will be given training and go through the Protected for Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check, paid for Falkirk Council. The aim is to develop a rota system of volunteers, so that no one is required to help out every week (though of course are welcome to if it suits them). People do not need to have children attending the youth club to get involved.
For further information, including what to do if you cannot make the meeting on Tuesday 17th August, please see California Community Hub’s Facebook post.
