As many will be aware, The Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 comes into force from April 2025. In order to help charities and third sector groups understand the changes and what this means for them. The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), Volunteer Scotland and Disclosure Scotland are holding an online session “New laws on disclosure and safeguarding: make sure you’re ready” at 2pm on Wednesday 4th December 2024.

Strategic Legal Fund for Vulnerable Young Migrants
Third sector and not for profit organisations working with vulnerable young migrants can apply for grants of up to £30,000 through the Strategic Legal Fund (SLF) for Vulnerable Young Migrants. The deadline for applications is Monday 27th January 2025.
Forth Valley Climate Action Hub Grants and Leadership Programmes
The Forth Valley Climate Action Hub, delivered through FEL Scotland, connects communities and supports their responses to the climate emergency, including by providing small grants for community-led climate action across the region. The current funds are: First Steps and Next Steps Grants for Climate Action, Women’s Climate Leadership Training Fund, Climate Leadership Programme. The deadline for all applications to these funds is 9am on Monday 9th December 2024.
The Fore Spring 2025 Funding Round: Registration Opening
Registration for The Fore’s Spring 2025 Funding Round will open at 12pm next Wednesday 4th December for one week until 12pm on Wednesday 11th December. The Fore offers unrestricted funding to help applicants grow, strengthen, become more efficient or resilient.
National Lottery Community Fund Scotland: New Funds
This week, the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland (TNLCFS) launched two new funding programmes, Community Action and Fairer Life Chances. These new funds focus on helping communities to tackle poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination; TNLCFS will also ask groups to explain how they will reach and support people facing these challenges. The funds will award bigger and longer grants and fund organisations of different sizes and levels of experience.
Suicide Prevention Scotland Online Sessions
Suicide Prevention Scotland are running two webinars on online harm and suicide prevention. Session One will look at the Online Safety Act and Social Media, taking place 2pm – 3:30pm on Wednesday 4th December 2024; Session Two will look at the social media use in the aftermath of a suicide, and takes place 10am – 11:30am on Thursday 23rd January 2025.

The Wise Group has launched their fully funded Home Energy Advice Relational Mentoring Service (HEAT), which provides one to one mentoring support and advocacy to vulnerable households in Falkirk District.
