Tacking Action on Rural Poverty Online Event
The Rural Communities Branch of Scottish Government’s Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) team is holding its annual online event on tackling rural poverty in Scotland, on Tuesday 2 December 2025, 10am – 12:30pm, via Zoom. This year, the team will be looking ahead to the 2026 Scottish elections and asking how can efforts to tackle rural poverty in Scotland be renewed and strengthened in the next parliament?
Funding Officer Network: November 2025 Meeting
Our final Funding Officers Network meeting of 2025 takes place next Wednesday 19 November 2025, 10am – 11am, online via Microsoft Teams. We will be joined by Rebecca Heggie from The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland. Rebecca is the Funding Officer for the Falkirk District.
Empowering Local Carers: Carers Rights Day 2025 Event
Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre is inviting unpaid carers from Falkirk District to a special Carers Rights Day drop-in event, which aims to empower carers with knowledge, support, and connection. The event takes place on Thursday 20 November 2025, 10am – 4pm at the Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB. This year’s national theme, “Know Your Rights, Use Your Rights,” aims to shine a spotlight on the importance of carers understanding their legal entitlements and accessing the support they deserve.
gLitter Team Britain in Bloom Awards Win!
Congratulations to the team at Let’s Get Grangemouth Clean (the gLitter team) on their recent successes at the 2025 Britain in Bloom Awards! The group won in the Large Town category as the overall category winner, with a gold award – one of only 2 Scottish category winners this year. They were also selected for the Judges’ Highlights, due to their “amazing community spirit”.
Linking Lives New Befriending Resource
Linking Lives has launched its new befriending resource, designed to empower local communities (including churches, charities, and organisations) to establish their own befriending schemes tailored to its unique needs. Thanks to Linking Lives’ funders, the resource is available for only £300 for the first year, which includes training for the coordinator and volunteers, all necessary paperwork templates, and access to ongoing training and support, amongst others.
Polmont Playgroup ASN Sensory Session Visit with Santa
Each week, Polmont Playgroup’s Vanessa offers ASN Sensory Sessions, supporting families going through the diagnosis process. Moving into the festive period, the Playgroup team is excited to announce that on Tuesday 16 December, 4pm – 5:30pm, the session will host a special visitor: Santa!
Falkirk Braes Grange Centre Christmas Fair
The Falkirk Braes Grange Centre is holding its Christmas Fair on Sunday 7 December 2025, 11am – 4pm in the centre itself, Redding Road, Brightons, FK2 0AA. There will be a range of local stalls, games, food and refreshments, plus a visit from Santa himself. Stalls are still available (at £20 per stall), and the team is still accepting donations for the tombola and decorations.
FOSS Words of Welcome Somali Event
Friends of Scottish Settlers’ (FOSS) next Words of Welcome community event will take place on Friday 21 November 2025, 12:30pm – 4pm at Falkirk Baptist Church Hall, Orchard Street, Falkirk, FK1 1RF. This event will be based around the Somali language, led by FOSS Somali volunteer Hassan.
FEL Scotland Bonnybridge Planting Workshops
FEL Scotland is holding a series of upcoming planting workshops, taking place in the Bonnybridge Community Hub, Bridge Street, Bonnybridge, FK4 1AA: Build a Planter: Monday 17 November 2025, 11am – 2pm: “learn how to build a planter box to grow your own fruit and veg”; Planting Day: Monday 24 November 2025, 11am – 1pm: “family friendly planting activity and herbs to take home”.
