Our team at CVS Falkirk is delighted to confirm the 36 local groups and organisations who received funding through the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund! We have been overwhelmed by the number, quality and creativity of the applications received and delighted to report that 36 groups and organisations were awarded funding for their community-based mental health and wellbeing projects and activities which will benefit people across the Falkirk district, totalling an investment of £415,139.50.

Due to catering and accessibility, booking is essential so get in touch soon to ensure your group or organisation have secured your 2 spaces and 2 picnic lunches.
Picnic in the Park Update: Volunteers’ Week 2022
We’re delighted to announce that Picnic in the Park will take place on Wednesday 1st June, 12pm – 2pm at Callendar Park, on the very first day of Volunteers’ Week 2022! There will be entertainment and refreshments, plus the chance to sit outside in the beautiful surroundings of Callendar Park and catch up with other volunteers. Picnic in the Park will be fully accessible, and will follow all relevant COVID-19 guidance at the time; attendees are welcome to wear masks if they wish, and social distancing (plus Distance Aware badges and lanyards) will be respected. We have catering for up to 100 people, though more people are welcome to attend; two spaces can be reserved in advance for catering.
Volunteers’ Week 2022 Activities!
Our team at CVS Falkirk would like to celebrate the wonderful volunteers and community members who do so much for communities across Falkirk and District. As a result, we’re not only bringing back our Volunteer Awards and Celebrating Volunteering Certificates, but – brand new for 2022 – we’ll be holding the very first Volunteers’ Week “Picnic in the Park!” in Falkirk!
Falkirk School Holiday Food Fund: Easter 2022
The Falkirk School Holiday Food Fund for Children and Young People is open for the Easter 2022 school holidays, which take place Monday 4th April – Monday 18th April in Falkirk. The aim of the fund is to support local organisations help improve the wellbeing of children and young people during the school holidays across Falkirk. Funding of up to £1,000 is available. As COVID-19 cases are rising locally, to reduce the spread of COVID-19 groups are encouraged to consider providing activities that can be delivered at home or outdoors. Applications should be submitted no later than Tuesday 5th of April.
COVID-19 Update: Vaccinations for 5 – 11 Year Olds
All children aged 5 – 11 years old are now eligible for the first of 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, following clinical advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) which was issued in February 2022. Appointments are now being sent out to those with parental responsibility, with vaccination taking place in community clinics.

We at CVS Falkirk want to say THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our second Virtual Falkirk Funders Fayre this week: to all the funders who presented at different sessions over the 3 days (and a special thanks to those joining us for the first time!), and every single one of our attendees, whether you joined us for one session, or all 9 of them. Without you, the event wouldn’t have been possible.
Support for Ukraine in Falkirk
We have been amazed, but not surprised, by the overwhelming response to support Ukrainians here in our Falkirk communities. Just as you all did throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support Syrian and Afghan refugees, we have seen people and groups come together to help people however they can, whether it’s donating food, clothes or supplies, organising collections, or raising awareness. As everything is moving so quickly, response across Falkirk has been a social media co-ordinated effort; we are working to share as much of these efforts and updates as possible across our own social media channels.
Falkirk Funders Fayre 2022 Spotlight: Two New Funders!
In the build up to our Virtual Falkirk Funders Fayre this year, we’re spotlighting the funders who are attending the event for the first time ever. This week’s spotlight focuses on TWO of our new funders: the Foyle Foundation and the Henry Smith Charity. Both have significant funding programmes, and we would urge people to book into their sessions to find out about how they can access these, along with tips and recommendations on what they look for in applications. The Virtual Falkirk Funders Fayre 2022 takes place Tuesday 8th March – Thursday 10th March, with 3 workshops each day; tickets are FREE, and can be booked via the Eventbrite page.
