CVS Falkirk is holding a drop-in “Welcome to Falkirk” event on Saturday 2nd July, 12pm – 2pm, at the Callandar Square, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1JN, to welcome people new to the local area and show them what support, services and activities are available from the third sector in Falkirk.

Our team at CVS Falkirk and Volunteer Falkirk would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended Picnic in the Park and helped us celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2022 with our first in-person event in over 2 years! We hope all our guests had an amazing time – we certainly did – and that we were able to show you how much you’re appreciated and valued here in Falkirk.

In case you missed our social media posts, we’ve announced the winners of this year’s Volunteer Awards! Our thanks again to our independent panel of judges, who had the difficult job of selecting one nomination from each category. A huge Volunteers’ Week congratulations to everyone mentioned above, and to every single volunteer who was nominated, and all of those who were not – Falkirk wouldn’t be the same without you all!

Our team at CVS Falkirk is delighted to announce the nominees of Falkirk’s 2022 Volunteer Awards! Winners will be announced on Wednesday 1st June, the first day of Volunteers’ Week (which runs 1st June – 7th June every year), the same day as our Picnic in the Park! event. Each and every one of our nominees deserves an award – as their nominations show, they do incredible things every day to help people and communities across Falkirk, and we would like to thank them for everything they have done.

Volunteers’ Week is now only TWO WEEKS AWAY! And we’ve announced something new and exciting. We have an extra special PHOTO COMPETITION, sponsored by local business and Falkirk family favourite, the Milk Barn! To be in with a chance of winning one of 2 £20 vouchers to spend at the Milk Barn, please comment on our Facebook post with a picture enjoying a place or space in the Falkirk and District area that is volunteer-led or maintained, or a local landmark. The competition will close at 12pm on Tuesday 7th June.

Our team at CVS Falkirk is delighted to confirm the 36 local groups and organisations who received funding through the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund! We have been overwhelmed by the number, quality and creativity of the applications received and delighted to report that 36 groups and organisations were awarded funding for their community-based mental health and wellbeing projects and activities which will benefit people across the Falkirk district, totalling an investment of £415,139.50.

Don’t forget there’s still time to secure 2 spaces, including 2 picnic lunches, for your volunteer involving group or organisation at our Volunteers’ Week Picnic in the Park! event on Wednesday 1st June, 12pm – 2pm, in the beautiful surroundings of Callendar Park, Falkirk. Due to catering and accessibility, booking is essential so get in touch soon to ensure your group or organisation have secured your 2 spaces and 2 picnic lunches.
