The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has issued advice for the Winter COVID-19 and flu programme, recommending that those most at risk, or those who come into regular contact with those most at risk, will soon become eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine dose to maximise their protection over winter.
Where possible, this will be co-administered with the flu vaccine, which has been identified as a safe and effective way to deliver protection.
From Monday 22nd August, the booking portal (linked for your convenience) is available to frontline health and social care workers to book appointments for their COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Staff should book their appointments on the portal, or follow advice from their boards on any local arrangements.
All adults aged 65 years old and over are also currently in the process of being contacted with a scheduled appointment for their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. All other eligible groups should wait until they are contacted or called forward.
Key Messages and Supporting Assets
All key messages, assets and suggested social media posts to support these initial groups being called forward is available on the Scottish Government Marketing News site, along with the campaign overview.
