“How do we remove the barriers that stop young people from becoming trustees?”

Eastside People is holding an online session as part of the Festival of Trusteeship during Trustees’ Week 2025, taking place on Wednesday 5 November 2025, 6pm – 7pm.

Supported by the Institute of Leadership, “Young Trustees Wanted: Unlocking the Next Generation” will look at tackling the barriers young people face in joining boards, and explore what’s working and what’s not, when it comes to recruiting and retaining younger trustees.

The session is aimed at aspiring and serving young trustees, and those looking to bring fresh perspectives onto their boards. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from young trustees about their experiences of volunteering with the third sector, and from organisations which have successfully brought fresh voices into the boardroom.
