The FREE Falkirk Funders Fayre takes place on Tuesday 5th March, 10am – 2pm at the Bowhouse Community Centre, Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, FK3 0EU. SIS Falkirk Retail Academy 2020: Applications Open
Applications are now open for Social Investment Scotland’s (SIS) Retail Academy 2020, based in Falkirk and aimed at social enterprises who are looking to access mainstream retail and corporate markets. SIS has 20 fully funded places for Scottish social enterprises. Participants should be available Wednesday 20th May – Friday 22nd May. The deadline for applications is Friday 13th March.
Poppy Scotland “Bud” Volunteers
Poppy Scotland are looking for volunteers to support their “Bud Touring Exhibition on Wheels” event, which will be in Falkirk for 2 weeks in March, from Monday 16th March – Thursday 26th March. Poppy Scotland’s “Bud” is an 18-tonne truck that transforms into a contemporary exhibition and interactive learning space, designed to teach communities across Scotland about the importance of remembrance and the heritage of the poppy. Visitors to the exhibition will hear stories from veterans and learn more about the work carried out by Poppy Scotland.
Slamannan Community Pavilion Bag-Packing Volunteers
To help raise funds and support the resources provided by The Community Pavilion in Slamannan, the team has organised a bag-packing day at Asda in Newmarket Street, Falkirk, and are looking for volunteers to help on the day. Bag-packing will take place on Saturday 29th February, 10am – 4pm. All money raised on the day will be used to purchase supplies for the Community Pavilion, including their food larder.
Braveheart Connections Hub Groups
The Braveheart Connections Hub, based at the Howgate Shopping Centre in Falkirk, has launched a range of groups focusing on different health and wellbeing activities. The groups take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, and are all free to attend.
