Foundation Scotland Grant Funding
Foundation Scotland has announced that their Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund has re-opened for applications, with grants of £1,000 – £5,000 available to support constituted third sector organisations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no deadline, but organisations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Foundation Scotland is also working in partnership with Crown Estate Scotland to help deliver their Community Capacity Grants Programme, with awards of £10,000 – £50,000 available for coastal and rural communities across Scotland. The deadline for expressions of interest to the Community Capacity Grants Programme is 12pm on Monday 12th October.

Save the Date: HIS Virtual Community Engagement in Primary Care Event
Healthcare Improvement Scotland (previously the Scottish Health Council) is holding their virtual Community Engagement in Primary Care event on Tuesday 10th November. The event aims to offer opportunities to share examples of good practice, including learning sessions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear about how community engagement has continued as a result of COVID-19; Healthcare Improvement Scotland is looking for community groups or services to showcase their particular examples on the day. The deadline for potential stories is 5pm on Thursday 20th August.
Froglife Amphibian and Reptile Ecology Survey Methods Training
Froglife is hosting an online free course on native Scottish amphibians and reptiles, and different survey and monitoring techniques. The 2 day course begins on Tuesday 11th August at 10:30am; the second part of the course is a pre-recorded presentation for attendees to watch in their own time. Places are limited, and booking is essential.
Home Energy Scotland: Crisis Funding Webinars
Home Energy Scotland (HES) is running a series of short webinars on new crisis funding for those on prepayment meters. They specifically want to share an update about crisis funding and other support available for those with prepayment meters, and how your clients can access this support. Upcoming webinars: “Introducing Home Energy Scotland”, Thursday 6th August, 2pm – 3pm; “Introducing Home Energy Scotland”, Friday 7th August, 12pm – 1pm. Alternative sessions can be arranged.
Zoom Meeting: DWP Barriers to Employment Initiative
Following on from our recent article highlighting the DWP Barriers to Employment Initiative and their invitation to receive partnership proposals, we have heard from some organisations who would be keen to meet and discuss further. We have arranged a Zoom meeting on Monday 10th August at 2pm – 4pm, with speakers from DWP and Partnership for Procurement (P4P), and time for you to discuss various aspects of the initiative with potential partnership organisations.

DWP Barriers to Employment Initiative: Partnership Proposals
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is looking for new, creative, unique and innovative proposals which will be delivered by organisations working together in partnership. Proposals should be aimed at improving the life and job prospects for people facing barriers to employment. The proposed programme should state how the partnership would address and overcome the specific needs, barriers and issues, include “soft skills” to employment, and focus on one of the claimant groups. The partnership must include at least 2 (preferably more) delivery partners. The deadline for applications to Round One is Friday 21st August.
2021 GSK IMPACT Awards: Applications Open
Applications are now open for the 2021 GSK IMPACT Awards, which provide core funding and free training for charities working to improve people’s health in the UK. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from £3,000 – £40,000, plus free training and development valued at a further £9,500. Organisations will also have a film made, receive help with press and publicity, and be given a set of promotional materials. Organisations must be at least 3 years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with income between £80,000 – £2.5 million. The deadline for applications is 10am on Monday 21st September.
