Firstport’s Social Enterprise Fund is now open for applications. These grants are designed to support social enterprises at different stages of development, from helping new social entrepreneurs test out an initial idea to providing funding which can support turning that idea into a full‑time role. There are with three different funds to apply for: Start It, Community Enterprise Fund and Build It.

Our Next Social Enterprise Breakfast Club!
Our next Social Enterprise Breakfast Club is taking place on Thursday 23 April 2026, 8:45am – 10:45am at the Falkirk Delivers office, 104 High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NW. Our Social Enterprise Breakfast Club offers a welcoming space for social enterprises across Falkirk & District to network, connect, share ideas, and learn more about the support available from CVS Falkirk & District. Come along to discuss your own social enterprise and hear from others running a diverse range of social enterprises in the area. We’ll also have a selection of hot rolls, plus tea and coffee to keep us going while we chat!

After a year-long break, The Big Help Out will return this Volunteers’ Week 2026, running Friday 5 June 2026 – Monday 8 June 2026.
AVM Scotland Peer Support Networking Group

Upcoming Young Trustees Movement Online Training
Recognising that less than 3% of charity trustees are under 30 years old, the Young Trustees Movement is calling for increased board diversity. As part of this campaign, they are hosting online training, 12pm – 1pm, across multiple dates (via Zoom), focusing on championing diversity within boards: Wednesday 15 April 2026, Wednesday 13 May 2026, and Wednesday 10 June 2026. Tickets are free, although advance booking is required to gain access to the Zoom sessions.
Greenheart Growers CIC Market Garden Volunteer Sessions
Greenheart Growers CIC is hosting volunteer sessions on Thursdays and Fridays, 11am – 4pm, at their market garden at Mavisbank Farm, Shieldhill, FK1 2AZ. The sessions are aimed at anyone who would like to contribute positively and gain practical growing experience and skills at a functioning Organic Market Garden, and make new friends. All abilities and experience levels are welcome to help contribute to the social enterprise’s mission. Teas and coffees will be provided.
People’s Postcode Trust Upcoming Application Window
People’s Postcode Trust supports small charities and community groups in Scotland to benefit people and the planet. The next application window opens on Wednesday 24 June 2026, and closes on Wednesday 1 July 2026.
Grants for Small Charities Supporting Vulnerable People
Through the Wise Music Foundation, funding is available to small UK charities supporting vulnerable people facing hardship, distress, illness, or poverty. The foundation offers grants of £500 – £5,000, with an average award of £1,500. Trustees meet quarterly to consider applications; the next closing date is Sunday 31 May 2026, for applications reviewed in June.
Asda Foundation Local Community Spaces Fund
Asda Foundation’s Local Community Spaces Fund aims to help charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs) which offer accessible community spaces for local people, and offer funding to repair, renovate and develop them so they can continue delivering their often vital activities and services. Applications will open from Tuesday 14 April 2026, closing on Tuesday 28 April 2026, and are open to registered charities and CICs which benefit local people. Grants of £10,000 – £20,000 are available.
Falkirk Foundation First Aid for Mental Health Training
Falkirk Foundation has opened bookings for its new First Aid for Mental Health training, taking place during Mental Health Awareness Week 2026. Level 5 and Level 6 Awards are now available; please note that for the Level 5 course, attendance at both sessions is required to pass. First Aid for Youth Mental Health (Level 5):: Monday 11 May 2026 and Wednesday 13 May 2026, 6pm – 9:30pm, £60 per person; Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (Level 6): Thursday 14 May 2026, Friday 15 May 2026, 9am – 5pm, £100 per person.
