NHS Forth Valley and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) have organised free Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) training, taking place in-person on:

Tuesday 13 October and Wednesday 14 October 2026, 9:30am – 4:30pm
Thursday 29 October and Thursday 5 November 2026, 9:30am – 4:30pm

The training is open to those working and volunteering in the Forth Valley area, including the third sector, and has been developed to provide information about mental health, remove stigma and fear, and give attendees confidence in approaching a person in distress. Attendees will learn how to recognise when a person might need help, and the best ways to approach them, along with learning basic suicide intervention skills, and what protects their own and other people’s mental health.
