Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre has announced further “Care with Confidence” Zoom sessions for unpaid carers in Falkirk, including “Reducing Our Energy Costs” with Home Energy Scotland and Scottish Water, on Tuesday 3rd November, 10:30am – 12:30pm, and “Diabetes: How to Reduce Your Risk”, on Tuesday 10th November, 10:30am – 12:30pm. Support is available for carers who would like to attend but are not sure how to get online, or how to join a Zoom meeting.

Poppy Scotland: Donate, Download and Display
Poppy Scotland is promoting an alternative Scottish Poppy Appeal this year, so people can safely show their support for the Armed Forces community. People can get involved by donating, downloading and displaying an A4 poppy in the window of their home during the Remembrance period (similar to the NHS rainbows earlier in the year).
Falkirk Council Proposed Rent Increases 2021-24 Consultation
Falkirk Council has launched an online consultation in order for people to share their views on Falkirk Council’s proposed rent increases for 2021-24. They are looking to gather people’s views on how much of a rent increase they would like to see, and how much they would like Falkirk Council to invest in council properties across the area. The deadline for responses is Friday 13th November; Falkirk Council will donate £1 to Strathcarron Hospice for every response.
Walk and Talk Group for Home Workers
Outside the Box is starting a new Walk and Talk Group for people working from home. The group will meet for the first time at 12pm on Friday 6th November, in front of Arnotdale House, Dollar Park, Camelon Road, Falkirk, FK1 5SQ. The group aims to encourage people to get away from their desk and keep active, getting people active and reducing the isolation a lot of people have experienced while working from home.
Falkirk Stadium Hotdesking Offer
Falkirk Stadium has created a new hotdesking offer during November for those still working from home across the Falkirk communities, for the price of a hot drink from the Westfield Café. The offer aims to reduce isolation and benefit people’s mental health by providing a form of human interaction and a change of scenery. Booking in advance, participants order and pay for a hot drink of their choice in the café, and receive a 2 hour hotdesk booking.
