The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF)’s Climate Action Fund (CAF) is open for applications to its second round. CAF supports communities across the UK to take action on climate change over 10 years, through people-led work and activities. Around £8 – 10 million is available for this round, with 12 – 15 awards expected to be made. The deadline for initial applications is 5pm on Thursday 8th April.

Free Training on Supporting Families to Talk about Money
Children in Scotland (CiS) has announced new dates for free training on supporting families to talk about money in a fun and friendly way. “Talk, Learn, Do: Teaching Your Children About Money” will run weekly half-day interactive sessions throughout March and April, aimed at practitioners and volunteers, in any settings, who support families or engage with parents and carers of children aged 3 – 11 years old.
New “Care With Confidence” Information Sessions
The next Tuesday “Care with Confidence” sessions from Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre will take place: “Mobility and Dementia” on Tuesday 30th March, “Scams” with Trading Standards Scotland, on Tuesday 6th April, and “Walking Aids” with the NHS Forth Valley ReACH Team on Tuesday 13th April. As before, sessions are via Zoom, 10:30am – 12:30pm.
“Peer2Peer” Course and Resources Available Online
The Scottish Recovery Network (SRN) has developed and made available materials for organisations to deliver the SRN “Peer2Peer” course online. The “Peer2Peer” course provides an opportunity for people with lived experience of mental health problems to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting others in their recovery journey.
Alzheimer Scotland Activities and Support in Falkirk
Alzheimer Scotland has released their latest What’s Online document, as well as information on a new supported art class and archaeology sessions. The art classes start at 11am on Tuesday 6th April, with this first session inspired by the beginning of spring. Classes are open to both carers and people living with dementia, with a cost per place of £25 (including materials) for the full block. Currently, there are 3 archaeology sessions planned; the first takes place online on Tuesday 18th May at 10am, focusing on the Rosebank Distillery and the Lock Keeper’s Cottage.
