Applications are now open for the UK Community Renewal Fund (UKCRF), which is being administered locally by Falkirk Council. Funding of £500,000 – £3 million is available to private, public, third sector and community organisations, to support revenue projects that will deliver opportunities to trial new approaches and innovative ideas, and invest in skills, community and place, local business, and support people into employment before the end of March 2022. The deadline for all applications is 12pm on Friday 28th May.

Community Choices Public Voting Opens Monday
Falkirk Council has confirmed that public voting for the first stage of its Community Choices initiative will open on Monday 24th May. Community Choices is Falkirk Council’s participatory budgeting initiative, with over £3 million of funding available over two years for local people, groups and organisations to bring about the changes that can make a difference to their community. Members of the public can then vote for the projects they think will make the most difference.
Our Place Camelon and Tamfourhill Community Safety Strategy
Our Place (OP) Camelon and Tamfourhill has released their new community safety strategy. The strategy outlines a number of proposed projects and initiatives which involve partnership between the local community, and a variety of agencies and organisations. As a result, it is based on collaboration, and putting the perspectives and aspirations of the local community front and centre.
Malnutrition Advice Line Launched Across Scotland
Eat Well Age Well has now launched their Malnutrition Advice Line (MAL) nationally across Scotland. MAL is a freephone number, and aims to support older people who have a poor appetite, or are experiencing unintentional weight loss, to eat well and stay nourished at home. The Malnutrition Advice Line is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9am – 4pm, by freephone: 0800 13 88 220.
Forth Valley Good Food Research Project and Conversations
Forth Environment Link (FEL) is carrying out research on sustainable and dignified solutions to local food insecurity, in partnership with NHS Forth Valley, local councils and local Third Sector Interfaces. FEL wants to hear from organisations involved in food projects, community groups, businesses and individuals with an interest in tackling food poverty. They will also be hosting 3 online sessions to spark conversations around good food: Falkirk Good Food Conversation on Wednesday 2nd June, 3pm – 5pm; Stirling Good Food Conversation on Thursday 3rd June, 10am – 12pm; Clackmannanshire Good Food Conversation on Thursday 10th June, 2pm – 4pm.
