Earl Gate Energy Centre Limited (EGECL) has launched their new Community Fund, in order to help as many third sector organisations in the local communities as possible. The Community Fund is open to organisations in 5 specific Falkirk Council wards (Carse, Kinnaird and Tryst; Grangemouth; Falkirk North; Lower Braes; Bo’ness and Blackness), and aims to help organisations build stronger communities, reduce social isolation amongst vulnerable people, and strengthen community partnerships and local facilities. Organisations can apply for up to £1,500. The deadline for applications to the first round of funding is 5pm on Saturday 31st July

VHS Poster Competition: Open for Submissions
Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) is inviting third sector groups and organisations to submit digital posters (as pdfs) which tell their story helping the health of those who most need it. The poster theme is “Reaching and serving those who are missing, marginalised or overlooked in health.” Selected finalists will have their poster shown online at the VHS conference in October. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 30th July.
Online Public Protection Training: Remaining 2021 Dates
Falkirk Council’s Adult Support and Protection team is holding online Public Protection Training via Microsoft Teams throughout the year, with the next date Tuesday 20th July. All training will take place 9am – 12:30pm, and requires access via a laptop, tablet or desktop P.C. with a webcam and audio capability.
Money Advice Scotland July Events and Training
Money Advice Scotland has released its events schedule for June 2021, with all events, training and sessions free to attend. Upcoming events include “Money Works Webinar: Scams” on Tuesday 13th July, 1pm – 2pm, and
Thursday 29th July, 10am – 11am.
Social Care Personal Assistant Thank You Payment Portal
A dedicated online portal has been launched for social care Personal Assistants across Scotland to apply for a £500 thank you payment. A paper-based application form is also available for those who prefer it. A dedicated helpline has also been set up to support applicants (including access to paper applications), which is available Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 4:30pm by phone: 0800 841 1321. The portal closes for new applications at 11:59pm on Wednesday 25th August.
