Look Good Feel Better is launching a new series of men’s cancer support workshops at Maggie’s Forth Valley for those in the Forth Valley region, and is currently looking for volunteers who are interested in facilitating group sessions, providing peer-support, and helping to build a safe and welcoming environment for those attending the workshops.
About Look Good Feel Better
Look Good Feel Better is a charity supporting people living with cancer to manage the physical and emotional impacts of treatment.
For over 30 years, it has supported people living with cancer through practical workshops focused on skincare, haircare/styling, nutrition, and fitness, as well as fostering peer-support spaces where participants can share experiences, reduce isolation, and rebuild confidence.
Pilot Session
The team invites interested volunteers to the first pilot session on Thursday 13 November 2025 to observe the workshop format, meet the team, and decide if they would like to take part going forward.
The Volunteering Role
Look Good Feel Better is seeking volunteers who:
- feel confident facilitating or supporting small group discussions
- are comfortable creating safe, non-judgmental, inclusive spaces for men living with cancer
- are empathic, good listeners, and keen to support others
Full training on the workshop content (including cancer-specific elements) will be provided by the Look Good Feel Better team. No prior specialist experience is required — just warmth, communication skills and a desire to support.
The ongoing commitment requested of volunteers would be roughly one workshop per quarter into 2026, though schedules are flexible.
