“Making Policy Care” Event
The University of the West of Scotland (UWS)-Oxfam Partnership is holding an event on Tuesday 21st January, 10:30am – 1pm at the UWS Paisley campus, High Street, Paisley, PA1 2BE. “Making Policy Care” aims to provide a space for participants to share their views on the relationship between care, work, and poverty. Organisers are particularly keen to have grassroots organisations, community groups, local care providers, and anti-poverty campaigners attend.
Falkirk Local Fire and Rescue Plan Review: Third Sector Feedback Wanted
The local Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) team will be reviewing and revising the Local Fire and Rescue Plan for the Falkirk area over the coming months. This review is to ensure SFRS’ local priorities align to their new strategic ambitions, as well as remaining relevant to local risk. As part of the review, SFRS has launched a short online survey, aimed at gathering views from the local third sector. The deadline for responses is Wednesday 18th March.
Association of Jewish Refugees Second Generation Survey
The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) are looking to develop specific services and areas of interest appealing to existing second generation AJR members, and to attract new members. In order to identify key areas of interest for the second generation, the AJR has produced a short online survey to gather feedback.

Age Scotland Housing Survey 2020
Age Scotland’s 2020 Housing Survey closes for responses on Sunday 19th January. The survey is aimed at all people aged 55 years old and over in Scotland, and responses will be used by Age Scotland to help them continue to build their evidence base on how well older people are living in their own homes. In addition, respondents will also have the chance to win one of 5 £50 cash prizes on completing the survey.
“Place Making in the Park” Programme
The Social Enterprise Hub in Loch Lomond is holding a 2 day programme for anyone interested in undertaking developments (such as community asset transfers or “right to buy” situations), Wednesday 29th January – Thursday 30th January, 9:30am – 4pm in Tyndrum, Stirlingshire. “Place Making in the Park” is also open to those who want to ensure their community has a greater say in the design, delivery and location of services, and use of land.
Under the Trees Outdoor Education Volunteers
Under The Trees are looking for volunteers, aged 16 – 24 years old, to help them provide outdoor education sessions for children and young people in schools throughout both the Falkirk and Stirling areas.
Community Justice Discussion at Safer Communities Forum
The Community Justice Partnership seeks to support and manage people who have committed offences from the point of arrest, through prosecution, custody or community disposal and alternatives, until they are reintegrated. With the current Outcomes Improvement Plan due for revision before Tuesday 31st March, third sector groups and organisations are invited to take part in discussion during the next Safer Communities Forum meeting on Wednesday 15th January.
