The NHS Forth Valley Nutrition and Dietetic Health Improvement Team has produced a new resource page on food and nutrition during COVID-19. The page includes new 6 step recipe cards, cook-a-long videos and easy family recipes (all designed to be healthy, low cost and easy to make), along with signposting information and support on how to get started in the kitchen.

COVID-19 Winter Volunteer Expenses Fund
The COVID-19 Winter Volunteer Expenses Fund is now available for volunteers to reclaim their travel expenses for COVID-19 related volunteering. The fund can be accessed by community groups and organisations who operate in the Falkirk and District Council area and is of benefit to the local community. CVS Falkirk will administer the fund and process all expense claim forms, making payment directly to the volunteer.

Falkirk COVID-19 Winter Support Fund Launched
The local Falkirk COVID-19 Winter Support Fund has been established to enable food provision groups to continue to support families and individuals over the winter months. The monies are available for new or extended food provision in the community that is being delivered solely in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for completed applications is Monday 11th January 2021.
Research into Community COVID-19 Responses: Online Survey
Al Masaar is working with Together, We Help, to highlight the way local communities play a critical role in Scotland’s future and how everyone can build forward better, creating a fairer Scotland for all. They have launched an anonymous online survey for volunteers and individuals who have contributed at any point, or are still contributing, towards local action, and are keen to hear from as many individuals as possible. The deadline for responses is Wednesday 25th November.
Safe and Fun Falkirk Halloween Activities During COVID-19
This year’s Halloween will be a bit different for everyone. Some of our local people and community groups are organising alternative outdoor Halloween activities and sharing their crafty ideas so everyone can still enjoy the holiday safely across Falkirk. Our team has gathered some of them on our website, including costume competitions, spooky recipes, pumpkin trails, crafty ideas and old Scottish traditions that might be worth reviving this strange year.

HMRC COVID-19 Employer Support Webinars
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has announced a new live webinar, taking place Wednesday 30th September, 12:45pm – 1:45pm: “Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme”. They have also announced a series of live webinars on upcoming changes to the furlough scheme, with the next taking place Monday 28th September, 11:15am – 12:15pm.

Scottish Parliament Call for Views: Social Care Services During COVID-19
Scottish Parliament’s Health and Sport Committee is calling for views on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on social care services at home, via a new online survey. They are especially looking for views from people who provide, or receive, care and support at home, including: individuals receiving care at home; family members and unpaid carers; staff, managers or owners of a care at home services, or personal assistants providing care. The deadline for responses is Monday 7th September.
