Barclays Access Grants are now available via its Community Sports Fund, to support community organisations working to increase participation in football, tennis and cricket for women and girls across the UK. The programme is designed to address long‑standing inequalities in sport by widening access for underrepresented groups, and creating more inclusive opportunities at a local level.
The funding supports organisations which are starting new activities, expanding existing provision to reach new audiences, or sustaining programmes already engaging women and girls. A strong focus is placed on improving access for communities who traditionally face barriers to participation, including racially diverse communities, people with disabilities, and people from the LGBTQ+ community.
Grants of up to £1,000 revenue funding are available. In addition to financial support, successful applicants will benefit from access to training and practical support resources aimed at strengthening delivery and long‑term sustainability.
Applications are open to not for profit organisations, including community groups, youth organisations, and traditional sports clubs delivering football, tennis, or cricket activities for women and girls, or those seeking to start provision. Priority is given to organisations operating in, or supporting people from, areas of high deprivation (ie. [Scottish] Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) areas 1 – 3). Disability organisations outwith these areas may also apply, where activities are specifically for women and girls.
Applications close on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
