As we prepare for the launch of a new round of funding, CVS Falkirk & District is celebrating the successful delivery of the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk Community Led Local Development Fund 2025/26, which has enabled vital projects supporting and empowering rural communities.
The Kelvin Valley & Falkirk Community‑Led Local Development (CLLD) Fund is valuable because it brings targeted, locally‑driven investment into rural communities across Falkirk,
Across Kelvin Valley and Falkirk, rural communities are strengthened through the efforts of local third sector groups and organisations developing and maintaining projects and programmes of support which would not be possible otherwise. The Kelvin Valley and Falkirk Community Led Local Development Fund is valuable through the provision of targeted, locally-driven investment into these areas. This latest round of funding has enabled these organisations to expand and adapt their services to meet the ongoing needs of their community, with two recipients highlighting:
“Thanks to the support of CVS Falkirk & District and the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk CLLD Fund, we have been able to deliver a fabulous group to help support parents, carers and their children. This has helped us maintain our let and provide new educational toys and games to help our preschool children play, learn and develop social skills’(Bonnybridge Parent and Toddler Group)
“Thanks to the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk CLLD Fund, we were able to buy soft play equipment and a soup kettle. This means we can continue to run both the adult’s Brunch & Blether group and children’s holiday lunch club which benefits the whole community.” (Slamannan Action Group)

Totalling an investment of £187,679.42 for 2025/26 (split as £138,303 in capital funds and £49,376.42 in revenue), this funding reflects the third sector’s essential role in ensuring that opportunities for learning, connection and growth are accessible to everyone, regardless of postcode. By empowering local organisations, communities can build stronger networks of care and create environments where people feel supported and valued. Reflecting on the value this brings, CVS Falkirk & District CEO Victoria McRae stated:
“As Scottish Government’s Accountable Body for CLLD, CVS Falkirk & District have been able to award grants which support meaningful community infrastructure projects that aim to offer community benefit for years to come. Rural communities often face unique challenges, and this funding allows local organisations and groups to bring support directly to the people who need it, in the places they feel most comfortable. Through their local knowledge, trusted relationships and flexible approaches, we have seen an incredible impact across Kelvin Valley and Falkirk due to the efforts of the local third sector – and are pleased to have been able to support the development of these partnerships and projects.”
