As part of No Smoking Day 2026 on Wednesday 11 March 2026, NHS Forth Valley has highlighted the different support in the area for those looking to quit.
According to NHS Forth Valley:
“14% of the population in Scotland still smoke; 650,000 people. People smoking around 12 cigarettes per day could be spending £2500 – £3000 a year on cigarettes and in 2021, 31.5% of households in which at least one person smoked, were in relative poverty.”
The free “Quit Your Way” Stop Smoking Service provides one to one support and free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) for 12 weeks. Quit Your Way advisors can also help with quit planning tips, and advice on stopping vaping.
For further information on local support to quit smoking or vaping, please visit the NHS Forth Valley website, or download the service leaflet. Alternatively, for details on No Smoking Day, visit the ASH Scotland website.
