Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place from 13-19 May 2024, with this year’s theme focusing on Movement: Moving More for our Mental Health.
Next week, the Mental Health Foundation are keen to highlight that one of the most important things we can do to help protect our mental health is regular movement. Our bodies and our minds are connected so looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health.
But so many of us struggle to get enough exercise. With many different reasons for this, the Mental Health Foundation are using this Mental Health Awareness Week to help people to find moments for movement in their daily routines. Going for a walk in your neighbourhood, putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room, chair exercises when you’re watching television – it all counts! For top tips to help you get moving and maximise the mental benefits, please watch out for the Mental Health Foundation social media throughout the week – or view their Top Tips PDF (linked for your convenience).
If your organisation is celebrating, you can find official logos, posters, social media graphics and copy to help you promote your activities and get involved in #MomentsForMovement on the Mental Health Foundation website.
