The Local Nature Grant Scheme, delivered by the Linnean Society, provides funding for innovative, youth-led projects that help young people engage with and improve their local natural environment.
Grants of up to £1,000 are available, although applications for smaller amounts are encouraged. Projects must be designed with young people and demonstrate how they will empower participants to influence positive change, such as improving access to natural spaces, increasing biodiversity awareness, creating community gardens, nature trails, festivals, murals, or educational activities.
Applications are open to individuals and organisations across the UK who are linked to a group of young people, including schools, community groups, student organisations, home education groups, and small charities.
Projects must be delivered between December 2026 and early July 2027, with funding able to support materials, venue hire, publicity, training, transport, and project delivery costs.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 25 October 2026.
