The Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) is an accredited learning programme which acknowledges the wider achievement of young people.
JASS works to develop “the whole individual” by offering recognition in 4 key areas: regular physical activity, exploring a personal interest, working for the good of the community or the environment, and completing an outdoor activity or challenge.
The programme aims to provide an integral part of the recovery process within youth organisations and schools during the recovery and renewal phase of COVID-19, by:
- supporting blended learning and increased communication between schools and families
- providing a structure and targets for young people to work towards with acknowledgment and sense of achievement on completion, thus increasing confidence and a sense of wellbeing in young people
- accrediting outdoor learning activities
