Falkirk Council’s Child Protection Committee has confirmed dates for the new, free Inter-Agency Child Protection Key Processes Roles and Responsibilities training, taking place via Microsoft Teams, 9:15am – 12pm on:
- Wednesday 21st April
- Tuesday 24th August
Attendees should be aware that this online course has replaced the previous, full day Key Processes in Child Protection training. This essential training will cover the role and responsibilities of education, health, police and social work in regard to the child protection process, referencing the Forth Valley Child Protection Guidance.
The training is open to staff from Falkirk Council (including education and social services), NHS Forth Valley, the emergency services, and staff and volunteers from third sector organisations and groups. It aims to be helpful for anyone new to the Forth Valley area, or who has secured a promoted post in Education, who works with children and families as a social worker, family support worker, health visitor, approved foster or residential carer, police officer, or early years manager.
Attendees will need to ensure they can access Microsoft Teams and their device (computer, tablet or smartphone) has a webcam or camera and a microphone, and will be asked to complete pre-course reading prior to the training (which should take a maximum of one hour).
As the course has been condensed into 3 hours, afterwards attendees will be emailed post-course material that will complement the training.
Booking is required; confirmation will be sent via email, so those wishing to attend should ensure they use a valid email address.
To book your place at any date, or for further information, contact the team by email: cptraining@falkirk.gov.uk
Alternatively, view the course flyer.
Please note, education staff should book their place through their CPD Manager.
