Giving Tuesday 2020

Posted on November 13, 2020

With their partners, Giving Tuesday UK has organised this year’s Give Back Day, #GiveBack2020, which will take place on Tuesday 1st December.

Giving Tuesday is an annual campaign to celebrate and encourage giving in any form. Launched in the US in 2012, it now takes place in over 60 countries, typically on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The UK has been officially involved since 2014.

This year’s initiative aims to give people a chance to take something positive from this year, and help make a real difference, by giving back to charities and communities that have helped throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Individuals, businesses and charities are welcome to take part. Ideas from past years include donating money, volunteering, organising a fundraising event, or donating goods, food, or clothes.

Giving Tuesday UK has launched a series of online resources (via Google Drive) to help people take part and promote the initiative, including a social media toolkit (with infographics, timelines and Facebook profile frames), and toolkits aimed at charities and businesses.

For further information, including how to take part, please visit the Giving Tuesday UK website.
