Last year, Forth Valley was awarded “Social Enterprise Place” status from Social Enterprise Scotland (SES), in recognition of the impact that social enterprises are having on our local communities, with the area described as a “hotspot of social enterprise activity”.
The Social Enterprise Places programme run is by Social Enterprise Scotland, highlighting areas in Scotland where social enterprise can thrive. The programme is designed to promote, raise awareness and build markets for social enterprises at both a local and national level.
This is an absolutely fantastic achievement and recognition for social enterprise in Forth Valley. Over 180 social enterprises operate in Forth Valley, demonstrating thriving and innovative social enterprise eco-systems that are contributing to the regeneration of high streets, supporting communities, and investing in their local areas.
The Forth Valley Social Enterprise Network (FVSEN) is delighted to invite people along to the launch event celebrating this accolade. Supported by CVS Falkirk & District, Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI) and Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE), the launch takes place on Wednesday 13th March, 10:30am – 1pm (with refreshments available from 10am), in Falkirk District’s very own Bonnybridge Community Centre, 19 Bridge Street, Bonnybridge, FK4 1AD.
At the event, FVSEN will for the first time share their new brochure, highlighting just some of the social enterprises that have been recognised for contributing towards revitalising our local communities.
Chris Martin, CEO of Social Enterprise Scotland, will be speaking at the event about the great work done social enterprises across the Forth Valley, and presenting the FVSEN with their Social Enterprise Places Award.
There will also be an opportunity to hear about 3 local social enterprises operating within Forth Valley, and the work they do. The event will finish with a networking lunch, and a chance to visit stalls from organisations that provide support to social enterprises.
We would love to see as many people interested in social enterprise as possible join us for this wonderful occasion.
Anyone interested in social enterprise (whether an established organisation, a partner, or someone thinking about setting one up) is welcome to join us at this event. There will also be further information about FVSEN, networking opportunities, and refreshments.
We would also like to invite partners, and other stakeholders, who are interested in the revitalisation of our communities through social enterprise, and who would like to meet some of our local entrepreneurs.
