Forth Valley Sensory Centre has provided lots of different updates for Centre users and people with sensory disabilities, including:
- Living Well with Sight Loss (LWWSL)
New dates have been announced for the LWWSL course led by the Centre’s Sight Loss Ambassador, Laura Cluxton.
Taking place on Tuesday 14 April 2026 and Tuesday 21 April 2026 at the Centre, the course is open to people who are new to sight loss to learn about the resources and support available, and share lived experience.
- clay hearts for the anniversary Tree of Life
As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Forth Valley Sensory Centre has organised a Tree of Life in its Sensory Garden, which they hope to decorate with clay hearts containing people’s messages about the Centre. Hearts are available to purchase from the Welcome Desk for £1 each; people can choose any message, which will be added by the Centre’s team, before the heart is varnished and added to the Tree of Life.
“We hope by the summer months and through to the end of our anniversary year, that our Sensory Garden will be bursting with FVSC hearts sharing everyone’s feelings about the Centre.”
- yarn bombing Falkirk town centre
To raise awareness of the Centre and its 20th anniversary, the Centre’s team will be yarn bombing the Falkirk town centre during the summer holidays, and are looking for:
- keen knitters, crocheters or sewers to support the project and help create some of the bollard covers the Centre will be displaying in the project
