UK charities can apply for funding of up to £2,500 through the Fat Beehive Foundation, to enhance their online digital presence and expand their reach.
The funding is available to charities with an average annual income of less than £1 million, to support digital expenditures which may not be covered by other funding. The funding is designed to help organisations build websites and apps, digitise services, and purchase digital products.
The Fat Beehive Foundation is an independent UK grant-making charity supporting small charities to improve their digital presence. Established by the Fat Beehive agency in August 2020, the Foundation is an independent charity distinct from Fat Beehive Ltd, a digital agency based in London, which has been building websites for charities and nonprofits since 1997.
Every year, Fat Beehive allocates a portion of its profits to the Foundation, providing operational support in terms of administration and office costs, and the majority of funds for the grants. However, any donations by Fat Beehive Ltd to the Foundation do not carry obligations as to how the Foundation operates and where the money should be spent. These decisions are taken solely by the trustees of the Foundation.
The Foundation’s trustees are particularly keen to support “traditionally hard-to-fund organisations”, such as those supporting prisoners, refugees, or disadvantaged young people.
Applications can be submitted at any time and are reviewed at trustee meetings in April and October. The deadline for applications is the end of September for the October meeting and the end of March for the April meeting. Therefore, the closing date for the next round of applications is 5pm on Tuesday 30 September 2025.
