With Falkirk Funders Fayre 2026 now only 6 WEEKS away, we are delighted to be able to spotlight some of our exhibitors attending the event for the first time:
- FEL Scotland
FEL Scotland works to support communities making everyday changes which are good for them and better for the planet: “practical, innovative ways of improving lives and reducing climate impacts that are right up your street”.
“FEL is here to help people, their communities and our planet thrive. We believe that powerful change can be simple to make. And we design the collaborative social and environmental projects that deliver it – helping everyone take small steps to make their lives better and the world a healthier, happier, more sustainable place.
FEL projects focus on the things that matter to those they support and show them how they can make the changes they want to see. Whether it’s getting kids on bikes, growing food locally or building cohesive communities, we help them see what’s possible and give them the skills and confidence to make good things happen.”
While FEL funds typically open in mid-late summer, attendees at Falkirk Funders Fayre will be able to speak with them in plenty of time to plan their applications and ensure a strong, cohesive approach.
In addition, FEL can support groups with their own climate- or community-focused activities, including through the Forth Valley Climate Action Hub.
For further information, including how to sign up to the newsletter, please visit the FEL Scotland website (linked for your convenience) – or come along and meet them at Funders Fayre!
- Fairer Falkirk
The Fairer Falkirk team will be available to discuss the School Holiday Food and Activities Fund, alongside their other activities and projects, including the digital inclusion project (providing free SIM cards and mobile data to households), the new community transport project, and the distribution of free period products.
Fairer Falkirk is a team within Falkirk Council working to reduce poverty and inequality across the Falkirk District area. The team focuses on improving access to income maximisation, transport, inclusive services and fair work, supporting households while strengthening the capacity of community and third-sector organisations.
A core part of Fairer Falkirk’s work is coordinating and delivering practical support which helps reduce poverty and inequality at a local level. The team works closely with community and third sector organisations, using local insight and engagement to identify needs, support delivery and ensure that support reaches families who need it most.
School Holiday Food and Activities Fund
The School Holiday Food and Activities Fund is a key programme delivered by Fairer Falkirk and provides funding to local organisations to offer healthy meals alongside fun, educational and enriching activities for children from low-income families during the school holidays. The Fund runs across multiple holiday periods, including summer, autumn and spring (Easter), with the summer programme representing the most significant delivery period of the year due to its scale and duration.
During the most recent summer holidays (2025), over 1,500 local children took part in activities delivered by 20 different organisations, totalling more than 900 hours of provision. Almost 8,800 healthy meals were provided, helping to reduce holiday hunger while supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and social inclusion.
The Fund plays a key role in supporting trusted local organisations to reach families who may otherwise struggle to access activities during the school holidays.
Other Projects
Alongside the School Holiday Food and Activities Fund, Fairer Falkirk also delivers a digital inclusion project providing free SIM cards and mobile data to households experiencing digital exclusion, a community transport project aimed at improving access to services and activities, and coordinates the distribution of free period products.
While these projects do not provide direct funding, they offer vital support to families and communities and complement the outcomes of funded holiday provision.
At Falkirk Funders Fayre 2026, the Fairer Falkirk team aims to promote the School Holiday Food and Activities Fund, share information about upcoming funding opportunities and connect with organisations interested in delivering holiday activities and meals for children and young people in Falkirk.
