Further reinforcing the Scottish Household Survey findings that Scottish volunteering is in crisis, the latest Volunteer Scotland Cost of Living Crisis Report provides the latest data on the impacts of the Cost-of-Living crisis on people and Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) in Scotland.
Their analysis highlights that volunteer shortages remain in the joint top three single biggest challenges facing third sector organisations – with 76% reporting issues with volunteer recruitment and 73% of issues with volunteer retention. Within this, the challenges are wide ranging: covering everything from fewer people coming forward to volunteer, and people having less time to volunteer, through to volunteer fatigue and burnout.
