Community Shares Scotland is hosting two new free online events:

“Community Owned Businesses – Making It Easy” on Wednesday 2^nd September, 10am – 11:30am,

This event (in partnership with Co-operative Development Scotland and the Plunkett Foundation) covers how to take community owned businesses and projects forward.

To ensure vital community assets such as shops and pubs are preserved, many communities have come together to take these assets into community ownership. The event will cover fundraising, governance, and engaging communities, amongst other subjects.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to speak with people already running community businesses, and to learn from their experiences.

Introduction to Crowdfunding and Community Shares on Wednesday 9^th September, 2pm – 3:30pm

Hosted with Crowdfunder Scotland, this event covers how to begin planning a successful crowdfunding campaign.

There will also be an introduction to crowdfunding, community shares, and the support available from both Community Shares Scotland and Crowdfunder Scotland.

The event will cover key lessons for any type of crowdfunding campaign, but will have a particular focus on community share offers.
