Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) has made the decision to move to a free membership, with the intention of creating a larger, more diverse membership. As part of this move, VHS has reached out to existing members (both new, and long-term members) to ensure all records are up to date.

Consultation on Community Right to Buy Improvements
Scottish Government has launched a public consultation as part of a review of the Community Right to Buy, a key policy that has empowered rural, urban, and crofting communities to acquire land and other assets since its introduction in 2003. The deadline for responses is Sunday 5 October 2025.
Paths for All Becomes Walking Scotland
Scotland’s national walking and wheeling charity, formerly known as Paths for All, has announced its rebrand and new name as Walking Scotland. The change is designed to better reflect Walking Scotland’s mission and impact across the country, and reinforce its position and goals for the future. This includes a new logo and website.
The D Word
The D Word is a social enterprise aiming to contribute to an increasingly compassionate society where talking about death is a more common and comfortable experience. They hope to help reduce anxiety and apprehension, through their D Word resource.
Larbert Family Fun Day
FEL Scotland and Tryst Community Sports Club is holding a free Family Fun Day on Thursday 17 July 2025, 1pm – 4pm. Taking place at their Active Travel Hub in Larbert High School, Carrongrange Avenue, Stenhousemuir, FK5 3BL, the event will feature a number of activities.
SCYAP Art Project Opening and Active Travel Event
The official opening celebration of the Safer Communities Youth Action Projects (SCYAP) Camelon Railway Station Biodiversity & Community Art Project will take place at 12pm on Wednesday 16 July 2025. The day will then continue, 1pm – 4pm, at the nearby Nailer Park with an Active Travel Event, which is open to all the community.

Charity Law Changes: Charity Trustee Information Requirements
Charities can now submit their charity trustee information through the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) Online portal, as part of new requirements under the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023. This data will support OSCR’s regulatory work, and from early 2026, the names of charity trustees will be published on the Scottish Charity Register to promote transparency and strengthen public trust in the sector.
