The Braveheart Association is recruiting a Walking Development Officer.
The position is 16 hours per week, with a salary of £25,545 per annum (pro rata), and a temporary contract until Wednesday 31 March 2027.
Braveheart is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Walking Development Officer to lead and grow its community walking initiative in Falkirk District. The successful candidate will play a key role in encouraging more people to walk regularly, improving both physical and mental health outcomes across the community. The mission is to make walking accessible, enjoyable, and a natural part of everyday life.
A key aspect of the role includes promoting Braveheart’s walking programme through outreach and marketing activities.
The walks are delivered by Braveheart’s team of volunteers; it will be the Development Officers responsibility to recruit, train and support these volunteer walk leaders in their role.
The post is funded by Walking Scotland (formerly Paths For All), initially until Wednesday 31 March 2027; further funding will be applied for during the year.
Applicants should be passionate about health promotion and community engagement, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with local community health organisations networks and knowledge of the local area will be an advantage.
