The National Lottery Community Fund’s (NLCF) “Together for Our Planet” programme offers grants of £1,000 – £10,000 to support communities across the UK to take action on climate change.
The programme aims to build on interest and excitement for November’s 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, and nurture and develop local ideas, supporting a legacy of ongoing climate action projects in hundreds of communities across the UK.
Eligibility
The following groups are eligible to apply, based anywhere in the UK:
- constituted group or club
- voluntary or community organisation
- registered charity
- charitable incorporated organisation (CIO/SCIO)
- community interest company (CIC)
- not-for-profit company
- school, college, university (as long as your project benefits and involves the wider local communities)
- statutory body (including town, parish and community council)
- community benefit society
Projects and applications should reflect what matters to their communities, and can be small, covering areas like:
- food
- transport
- energy
- waste and consumption
- the natural environment
However, groups do not have to be an expert in these areas to apply; they are keen to hear from those starting to think about taking action.
Information Session
They are also holding online information sessions, with the next taking place on Tuesday 21st September at 11am. During the session, the NLCF’s team will answer questions about the programme, including application criteria and the kind of projects they’re hoping to fund. Advanced booking is essential.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 18th November.
