A second round of the Neighbourhood Ecosystem Fund opened for applications on Monday 20 January 2025 to enable community-led project groups in Scotland to develop local nature restoration projects.
The Neighbourhood Ecosystem Fund seeks to inspire, encourage, and enable communities to explore and develop ambitious ecosystem restoration projects locally. It also seeks to raise awareness about the importance of locally-led ecosystem restoration and address barriers faced by communities.
Funding will be administered by Inspiring Scotland and is supported by the Carman Family Foundation, the Scottish Government’s Nature Restoration Fund (managed by NatureScot) and other funders. Projects should focus on the development and feasibility stages of undertaking ecosystem restoration, rather than physical delivery – and projects must be delivered between 1 June 2025 – 31 March 2026.
Grants of up to £13,500 are available, and place-based community groups with an income of under £200,000 can apply – with successful applicants receiving up to £1500 in professional fundraising support in addition to their grant. Please read the guidance notes to find out more about the fund and check you are eligible to apply: Fund Information and Guidance notes (Easy Read version).
If you think you are eligible and would like to apply, you need to complete the Expression of Interest Form.
The deadline for applications is 12pm, on Monday 3 March 2025.
