The Grocers’ Charity is inviting applications from UK registered charities to its next funding round, offering one‑off grants to support work which makes a meaningful difference across a broad range of community and social issues. With a particular focus on small‑to‑medium charities, the programme aims to strengthen organisations working at grassroots level and supporting people most in need.
The Charity provides grants to organisations delivering work within the following priority areas:
- relief of poverty
- support for older people
- disability and inclusion
- health
- military causes
- the arts
- heritage
- environment and conservation
- children and young people
The Fund reopens on Monday 30 March, and the next deadline for applications is Tuesday 1 September 2026.
Eligible charities must have an annual income below £500,000. Charities can apply for grants of up to £5,000, with approximately £1 million awarded each year. Funding is revenue-based and can support a wide range of project or service delivery costs.
The Grocers’ Charity operates a two‑stage application process: an initial enquiry form is submitted through the charity’s website, and if successful, the organisation will be invited to complete a full application. Applications are reviewed by Charity Trustees at quarterly meetings held in March, April, June, and December.
Applicants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the grant process, and review examples of previously funded projects to determine suitability before submitting an enquiry, all of which is available at the link below.
