The Screen Education Fund from Screen Scotland supports projects which help make screen education more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable across Scotland. The fund is designed to support innovative work that strengthens the provision of screen education in both formal and informal learning environments, with a focus on long‑term impact, and sector development.
Applications should align with the fund’s key priorities, including: supporting the development and growth of screen education across Scotland; strengthening long‑term sustainability through projects that build capacity and understanding; promoting the value and benefits of screen education for learners of all ages.
Projects can take place in schools, colleges, youth and community groups, or other non‑traditional learning settings where screen education can thrive. Funding may be used towards programme planning, delivery and staffing costs, safeguarding, specialist practitioners, training, venue hire and access costs. All funded projects must be completed within 12 months.
Grants of £1,000 – £25,000 are available. Funding is revenue‑based and intended to support project delivery rather than equipment purchase. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no deadline, enabling applicants to develop proposals at a pace that suits local needs and partnership working.
Applications are open to individuals, organisations and constituted groups based in Scotland. A single lead applicant must submit the proposal, with letters of commitment required from any named project partners.
The Fund does not support:
- hiring or purchasing filmmaking equipment
- industry expert speakers
- promotional merchandise
- film licensing costs
This fund is designed as an opportunity for educators, creative practitioners and community organisations to deliver meaningful screen‑based learning and develop Scotland’s next generation of storytellers and digital creators.
