Scottish Women’s Budget Group (SWBG) is a campaigning, research and training group which aims to promote equality through gender budgeting to build a fairer and more equal Scotland.
Each year, SWBG’s annual online survey aims to develop a deeper understanding of women’s finances and caring responsibilities across Scotland, and (especially with the Scottish Election approaching) aims to ensure women’s voices shape economic policy and budget decisions.
Key areas of focus within the 2026 survey include: what challenges and opportunities are women facing, women’s priorities for devolved policy areas, and what would help women engage with the Scottish budget process. With all results anonymised, previous findings have been shared with MSPs and elected members across Scotland by the SWBG, strengthening evidence on women’s finances and caring responsibilities, and shaping briefings on Council Tax and women’s financial security.
Open until Monday 23 March 2026, the survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and can be accessed via the Smart Survey page (linked for your convenience).
