The Scottish Mediation Centre has launched its training calendar for 2026, featuring new free workshops as well as the Centre’s regular courses in mediation, conflict resolution and restorative skills.
Training opportunities in 2026 include:
- Mediation “Taster” Workshop (1.25 hours)
Heard of mediation but not sure what it means? This short workshop explores some of the principles of mediation and outlines the process. Workshops will take place throughout 2026, with dates including: Wednesday 22 April 2026, Monday 7 September 2026, and Tuesday 8 December 2026.
- Introduction to Restorative Skills (1.25 hours)
This ‘taster’ workshop provides a short introduction to the definitions used in the restorative world, together with some of the practical skills that restorative practitioners need. Workshops will take place throughout 2026, with dates including: Wednesday 29 April 2026, and Wednesday 16 September 2026.
- Introduction to Restorative Practice (1 day)
Based on the accredited six-day Restorative Skills course, this workshop provides managers, team leaders and workers with an understanding of the restorative process, the restorative skills required of a facilitator, and an outline of the restorative meeting. Workshops will take place throughout 2026, with dates including: Wednesday 20 May 2026, and Wednesday 21 October 2026.
